I planted bell pepper without soil. Just for my convenience.
Bell peppers are tasty vegetables that can be enjoyed either cooked or raw. There are red, green yellow and orange bell peppers representing different stages of ripeness. Green peppers are unripe, red peppers are fully ripe with yellow and orange in between the two. As it age and ripens, their taste and their health benefits changes too.
Green is the least ripe and the most bitter. Red and orange are sweeter with red being the sweetest.
Red peppers has more nutrition because they have been in the vine longest. Green peppers are harvested earlier, before they have the chance to turn yellow, orange and then red. Compared to green, the red ones have almost 11 times more beta carotene and 1.5 times more vitamin C.
Bell peppers are low in calories and rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants making them an excellent addition to a healthy diet. It also contains a significant amount of dietary fiber and vitamin B6. With its carotenoids content, red bell peppers are great to fight acne. Green bell pepper is one of the best cure for cancer. It kills young and aged bacteria when taken in bigger amount in blended form. Bad bacteria are essential to the body, hence, it is not advisable to eat as many when you have no cancer.
For my convenience, I planted cucumber in water. I know this is not perfect but its my first time and I am still learning.
Cucumber is known for its many nutritional benefits and hydrating properties. A cup of cucumber contains 16 calories with its peel (15 without), 4 percent of your daily potassium, 3 percent of your daily fiber and 4 percent of your daily vitamin C. It also has small amount of vitamin K, magnesium, potassium, manganese and vitamin A.
Cucumber is also loaded with 45 calories and are great for a flat stomach. This is because cucumber contains as much as 96 percent water content, which does not give you a bloating effect and helps your body to cool down. Oats take time to digest in the body and hence, tend to burn calories.
Consuming cucumber regularly can help lower uric acid levels in your body by helping your kidney to flush out the compounds out of your blood. It also help dissolve small kidney stones and gets rid of toxins in your body.
Cucumber also has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps in reducing puffiness. The high water content helps in hydrating the skin and the cool temperature decrease the flow of blood to the space around your eyes. They soothe the skin around your eyes and alleviate swelling. A regular intake of cucumber can also decrease bad cholesterol and blood sugar levels as well.
Cucumber water helps to detoxify the body as it contains antioxidants that fights free radicals and flush out toxins from the body.
Having lots of cucumber is
sure to make you feel "full" and bloated and as a result, interrupt your
sleep. Plus, there is another reason why you should only eat cucumber
in a limited quantity. This is because you are taking in more water and
are bound to fill up the bladder and urinate more during your sleep.

Hydroponic gardening is all about doing more with less.
This
is great for people, like me, who wants to grow their own food with
less space, less labor, less energy and most of all, less expenses.
This not a
new concept. This technique is believed to have been practiced in ancient times and in other countries. Only in recent years that it has found its way in the Philippines and is now becoming more popular in most households.
I love planting. I grow fruits and vegetables. But what makes it difficult for me is watering it daily. This made me resort to Hydroponic.
Let me share with you my very first hydroponic plant, lettuce.
